Beyond the fact that this background looks good, it is very effective in the aspect of leading the viewer to the content in the center of the page. This leading is achieved by the yellow horizontal cone from the eyes of the image toward the center of the page.
This is pretty cool. I like the contrast between the blue and the yellow. I’m not overly fond of the jumping guy in the other guy’s face, but I do like how the yellow “line of site” draws one’s attention to the “follow” button. Encouraging one to do just that.
Very cool BG. I like the sort of “laser vision” you have going there. Unlike the last commenter, I do like the jumping dude in the head. Would be cooler if it was you
I heart the background. Very nice job focusing the attention on the follow button with the yellow line, the profile’s eyes, the jumping dude. Not sure why he’s smacking the profile guy in the eye with his briefcase, but it kind of looks like he has a magical laser brief case, so I’m okay with it.
@david – yeah I noticed a lot of people were stepping it up, and I figured as a designer I needed something a little more substantial than the solid orange I have been rocking for a while.
Wow! Look at your go boy! I likey the new twitbackground.
Looks awesome Jason, nice one!

Looks great!
very nice colors, simple and effective
I like the whole scheme, color, jumping guy (but not in your silhouette) let him jump somewhere else – like the laser action going on too…good job!
Jason, love the new Twitter background. Looks like I’ve got to get to work and crank out my own.
thanks all.
